You inspire me. The stories and generous spirit of hosts like you are the reason so many travelers love staying on Airbnb. You are helping millions of people feel they can “belong anywhere” on our planet. As hosts, you’re turning strangers into friends through opening your homes and your hearts.
Now it’s our turn to open our hometown to you. We want to welcome you as our guests for our first international, three-day Airbnb Open in beautiful San Francisco on November 21–23, 2014. Held at Fort Mason Center, a historic waterfront venue with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, this event will empower successful hosting with a program that educates, inspires and celebrates our hosts.
The programming will include:
- Keynote address by co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky and talks from noted hospitality experts
- Peer-to-peer learning sessions to share tips, recommendations, and stories with Airbnb hosts from all over the globe
- Opportunities to learn from and give feedback to Airbnb leaders from across the company to help Airbnb’s services better meet the needs of hosts as we evolve and grow together
- Our first annual Host Awards dinner recognizing hosts that go above and beyond (with nominations coming from guests and fellow hosts) and dinners in local Airbnb employees’ homes
In the next week we will be sending hosts more information on how to register. While space is limited—and San Francisco may be a distant place on the globe for many of you—we hope you’ll consider joining us. If not this year, we hope to have similar opportunities for hosts around the world in coming years. If you can make it, Airbnb Open in San Francisco will be an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.
With gratitude for all you do for Airbnb,
Chip Conley — Airbnb Head of Global Hospitality and Strategy
