We’re just weeks away from Airbnb Open in Los Angeles! From November 17-19, hosts and guests will gather in Downtown LA to make connections, learn hospitality techniques, and celebrate with the global Airbnb community.
With the festival of hosting coming soon, we asked two local hosts—Dave and Vanda—to share their favorite Downtown LA spots.
Dave and Vanda are craft brewers who host in Northeast Los Angeles’ Mt. Washington neighborhood. Their home, a retreat in the hills near Downtown LA, features a deck that overlooks a scenic canyon beneath a canopy of old growth trees. Dave’s and Vanda’s listing gives travelers the chance to enjoy nature at a location close by Downtown’s restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, and galleries.
Airbnb Open is your chance to experience LA like a savvy local. Dave and Vanda’s recommendations will help guide your explorations of Downtown LA:
Vanda: “This brand new restaurant brings friendly vibes and awesome gourmet tacos. Don’t miss the chance to cool off with their lavender cantaloupe aguas frescas!”
Dave: “This is Downtown LA’s best secret patio. The craft beer list is extensive, and the menu offers terrific Little Tokyo-inspired bar bites like the Loco Roll and the Wasabi Fries.”
Vanda: “Downtown’s incredible new modern art museum! You can reserve advance tickets to avoid the line at the door, but either way, it’s worth the wait.”
Dave: “Buzz delivers on its namesake with a comprehensive selection of unusual wines and craft beers—including ours. The staff is super knowledgeable, and there’s an intimate tasting room in the back where you can open up the bottles you buy.”
Vanda: “LA bicycle culture meets coffee couture! This is the only place in the city where you can sip a perfect cortado while the staff gives your bike some love and care. Every Thursday, they organize a really cool neighborhood bike ride that you won’t want to miss.”
