Earlier today, Airbnb’s co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Joe Gebbia, took part in the Clinton Global Initiative’s Annual Meeting in New York City. Joe stood with corporate and community partners working together to support young people who pledge a year of service.

At the meeting, President Clinton and Chelsea Clinton announced Airbnb’s new commitment to a national service project led by ServiceNation. Going forward, Airbnb will support AmeriCorps members around the country by donating accommodations and support for approximately 1,000 corps members as they move to new cities for their year of service. This initial contribution will enable a smooth transition for new corps members as they embark on their service in schools, health centers, parks, and communities recovering from disasters across the country.

This commitment is part of the Airbnb community’s ongoing work to strengthen and support the cities and neighborhoods in which we operate. Every day, Airbnb hosts across the country open their doors and their hearts to visitors, and we are thrilled to be part of helping provide new service corps members a place to call home as take part in their year of service.
