The wedding day.
ExtraordinAIRy Couple #3
Katherine & Robert
Our team has become well acquainted with this globe-trotting team, appropriately coined, “The Honeymooners” because of our interaction with them throughout their nine month honeymoon around the world. They stayed at 12 different listings in 10 countries as part of their tour – in everything from shared spaces, entire places, beach houses and more. We were fortunate to meet up with them in both Paris & Dublin, and capture a part of their story in each place:
Given their joint love of music and dancing, it was only appropriate that they met in 2007 boogying the night away in San Francisco. They were married in May of 2010, packed their bags and got those passports ready for some massive use!
“Since neither of us had previously done extensive international traveling, we were determined to try and live like locals. We decided that staying on Airbnb would make the experience more authentic,” said Katherine. And stay they did. They ended up at the following places: Kona, Hawaii – Buenos Aires – Rio de Janiero, – Paris – Nice, France – Dublin – Amsterdam – Berlin – Istanbul – Melbourne – and two different places in Thailand: place 1 & 2.
Their favorite Airbnb moment? “We were able to celebrate Robert’s Uncle’s 69th birthday in Ko Phangan, Thailand. We rented a beautiful house perched high above the beach on a hill with a wrap around deck. Each morning we could open the doors, sit drinking our coffee and watching the sun rise over the ocean”.
We are officially jealous, but also super glad they are home so they can come hang out with us in our San Francisco office.
Congratulations to you both on a wonderful first year!
