After hearing from so many hosts around the world for our first survey, we’re excited to launch the second edition of Host Voice. The results we gathered in May have already helped us shape our plans, and we’re looking forward to sharing the work we’ve been doing at Airbnb Open in Paris.
For the first edition of Host Voice, the features that received the most votes were guest verification, detailed Instant Book requirements, and additional hosting resources. We want to see what else is a high priority for you, so we’ve put together a new batch of projects for you to vote on—all of them come from feedback we’ve heard from hosts.
So take a moment to let us know what you think! We’re shaping Airbnb together.
Host Voice: September 2015
The September 2015 Host Voice survey is now closed. Keep an eye out for the next Host Voice survey coming in a few months!
Your Host Voice results are in! (updated October 2015)
Thanks to the thousands of you who participated in the second Host Voice survey. Your feedback has motivated and informed lots of the developments you’ll see in the coming months. We’ve focused on the 3 topics you voted for most. Take a look!
Improved messaging on web: Improvements to the message threads that make it easier to respond to requests and communicate with guests from your inbox.
Update: We’re currently testing new message thread designs that will make it easier for you to communicate with guests and accept or decline requests from within the thread. We’re aiming to introduce these globally before the end of the year.
Host dashboard: Split information about pending or upcoming reservations from performance data, so it’s easier to find what you’re looking for.
Update: Hosts have made clear that they find the dashboard too confusing, with so much different information living in the same place. We’re going to make this simpler for you by categorizing the information and making it easier to find. More to come before the end of the year.
Guest resources: We’ll provide new guests with videos and tips that help them learn how to travel successfully.
Update: We’ve often heard hosts ask for resources that explain to new guests how Airbnb works. We’re creating these resources even now and will share some exciting updates during Airbnb Open next month.
We’re thrilled that so many of you shared additional ideas for features in the ‘other’ option. Look for some of those to show up in future editions of Host Voice.
Updated features based on your feedback from both Host Voice surveys will be debuted at the upcoming Airbnb Open conference in Paris. We hope you’ll stay tuned for the next Host Voice survey headed your way later this winter. We’re listening!
