Since meeting face to face with many of you at Airbnb Open in 2014, we’ve been able to make changes that respond to what you asked for. Your suggestions have helped make the calendar more versatile, the mobile app easier to navigate, and the dashboard full of data you can use to measure how you’re meeting your hosting goals.
We want to hear more from you, so we’re launching “Host Voice,” a new way for you to share your amazing ideas about how we can make Airbnb better. Every few months, we’ll ask you to choose your favorites from a new list of ideas hosts have proposed, and we’ll keep you updated with our progress on your favorite projects here on the hospitality blog. Although our teams are working hard to develop many product improvements, we can’t build everything at once. So, tell us what will benefit you most. We’re listening!
Host Voice: May 2015
The first May 2015 edition of the Host Voice survey is now closed at this time. Keep an eye out for the next Host Voice survey coming soon later this summer!
Your Host Voice results are in! (updated June 2015)
Thanks to the thousands of you who participated in the very first Host Voice survey. Your feedback has motivated and informed lots of the developments you’ll see in the coming months. We’ve focused on the 3 topics you voted for most. Take a look!
Guest verification: Require guests to have a profile photo, verified email, and verified phone number before they can request to book your listing.
Update: You’ve told us it’s important for you to have the tools you need to get to know potential guests. We want you to be confident and comfortable when welcoming travelers, so we’re aiming to roll out additional guest verification requirements within the year.
Instant Book requirement filters: Have more options to control who can book your space using Instant Book.
Update: In response to your feedback, we’re developing new ways for you to decide who can instantly book your space. We want to help you receive the types of requests you want, and we’re excited about the changes you’ll see this fall.
Hosting resource support: Provide a resource center with information and tools on how to reach your hosting goals.
Update: We hear your enthusiasm to develop your hosting techniques loud and clear! We’ll begin rolling out pilot materials to new hosts this summer and plan to make these resources available to all hosts later this fall.
We’re thrilled that so many of you shared additional ideas for features. Look for some of those to show up in future editions of Host Voice–yours might be the next big idea for making Airbnb better! One thing we noticed was that a lot of you asked for seasonal flexibility with minimum night requirements. This is actually already possible, so head over to this article and start customizing that calendar.
We hope you’ll stay tuned for the next Host Voice survey headed your way later this summer. We’re listening!
