The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Awards showcase how businesses can serve as a powerful force for good in communities across the United States and in countries around the world.

We are proud that the U.S. Chamber Foundation has named Airbnb a finalist for the Best Disaster Response & Community Resilience Program award. The program for which we received the recognition — Global Disaster Response & Relief–  reflects the collective power of our community to affect change.

In moments of disaster, Airbnb hosts open their doors and welcome those in need, free of charge. This program enables our community to accommodate displaced residents, relief workers and volunteers in need of urgent lodging during an emergency. This concept began organically back in 2012 in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and has since grown into a global disaster response initiative that makes it easy for our hosts to provide a home for people in need when disasters strike.

Airbnb is thrilled to be recognized for this program, and we are committed to continuing this important work across the globe with our incredible community.
