Every time an Airbnb host welcomes a traveler, they are making the world a more connected place, one less stranger at a time.
Given this mission, we were incredibly honored to host a special group in our San Francisco offices this week: Ambassadors representing nations on six continents. Over 35 members of the Diplomatic Corps visited Airbnb as part of the U.S. Department of State’s Experience America Program.
During the visit, we had the chance to discuss the ways that exchanges of culture, ideas, and tradition can provide travelers with a new perspective on the world and connect people across countries and languages. The Airbnb community spans the globe and includes hosts in more than 34,000 cities and 190 countries. Every day, we hear about meaningful exchanges between hosts and guests from different countries and cultures, and it was great to discuss these topics with the Ambassadors.
Through efforts like our #OneLessStranger campaign and ongoing work with community groups in cities around the world, we hope to inspire a world where all seven billion of us can truly belong anywhere.
We applaud the Diplomatic communities around the world who support and engage in this work everyday, and we’re happy to welcome them into our home anytime.
